STUDIO CONNERS upgrade to service ready

Can STUDIO CONNERS be ready to accept clients?

What came of the day

Studio Conners became a real, coherent business direction rather than a loose name around my work. We defined STUDIO CONNERS as a local-first, family-capable problem-solving studio built around a simple promise: bring us the problem, and we will figure out what can be understood, fixed, designed, researched, taught, photographed, built, or otherwise moved forward—often within a single day. We established a two-level service model: work that takes less than a day, and a full Studio Day centered on one meaningful question and a concrete artifact or result. We chose Remsen as the starting market, with Marcus and Le Mars as natural next steps. We also inventoried the unusually broad capabilities available across the Conners family, clarified the brand direction, filed STUDIO CONNERS as the Iowa fictitious name for SHAWN CONNERS, LLC, submitted the Iowa Sales and Use Tax permit application, and established the direction for rebuilding studioconners.com as a fresh Lovable project. The biggest outcome is clarity: Studio Conners now has an identity, an operating model, a market, a story, and a practical path forward.

The story

This began as an attempt to upgrade Studio Conners, but the important work was not really a website redesign. The question underneath it was: What is Studio Conners actually for? Instead of starting with a conventional service menu, we looked at what I can genuinely do, then expanded the inventory across Kristin, Charlie, Henry, George, and John. What emerged was much broader and stranger than a normal small agency. Between us there is software, AI, IT, research, writing, photography, design, 3D work, hardware, history, culture, games, sales, troubleshooting, teaching, and the ability to learn unfamiliar things quickly. That suggested a different business. Studio Conners does not need to pretend that every problem fits a predefined service. Someone can simply bring us something that needs to be figured out. Sometimes the answer may be a website or piece of software. Sometimes research, photographs, a repair, a document, a design, a system, an explanation, or something we could not have predicted beforehand. The constraint that made the idea click was the day. Rather than becoming another open-ended consulting business, Studio Conners can ask: What can we make for you in a day? That makes the studio concrete. One problem. Focused attention. Something real at the end. And rather than beginning by trying to sell that idea to the whole internet, we can begin at home—in Remsen—where trust already exists, learn what people actually bring us, and let the studio reveal what it wants to become. By the end of the Obsession, STUDIO CONNERS was no longer just a name. It had become a business idea I could actually imagine operating.

Discoveries

  • The strongest Studio Conners offering is not a narrow list of services.

It is the ability to take an unfamiliar problem, understand it quickly, and produce something useful.

  • “What can we make for you in a day?” is a stronger organizing idea than trying to explain every capability we have.

  • A Studio Day maps naturally to the ObsessOS philosophy

One meaningful question, one protected day, one tangible result.

  • The family is a legitimate part of the studio model, not a branding gimmick.

The combined capabilities span software, AI, IT, research, writing, photography, design, 3D work, hardware, history, culture, youth trends, sales, and game development.

  • Local trust may be a better initial advantage than competing anonymously on the internet.

Remsen gives Studio Conners relationships and credibility that would be difficult to manufacture online.

  • The business does not need to know the solution before accepting the problem.

Investigation, diagnosis, and figuring out what should be done can itself be valuable work.

  • Studio Conners should feel like a studio, not an agency or conventional consultancy.

The identity can remain broad, curious, practical, and project-driven.
