Get STUDIO CONNERS Launch Ready
Is STUDIO CONNERS actually ready to launch, and what still needs to be resolved before we send the first five pieces of outreach?
What came of the day
The September 5 Obsession closed the gap between having a compelling offer and actually being able to operate when someone responds. We resolved the business-phone and inquiry-handling system, clarified Kristin's operational role, settled on a conservative sales-tax approach, confirmed that the outreach can continue to say “A Studio Day is $500,” and created the client-facing and internal documents needed to handle a Studio Day cleanly. The remaining work is mostly execution rather than launch design: send the first five outreach packages, complete the bank DBA update, and have the misprinted business checks corrected. None of those require another round of fundamental Studio Conners planning before outreach can begin.
The story
The day began with what sounded like a small question: are we actually ready to launch? The visible parts already existed. Five local businesses had been chosen. Five custom website concepts had been made. The physical outreach had been designed. The offer was understandable: bring Studio Conners a problem and give us a day. But looking at the business from the moment a prospect says “yes” exposed another layer. Who answers the phone? What happens if someone calls during an Obsession? What can Kristin handle? What do we send a client before the work begins? What happens with sales tax? Can the mailer simply say $500? Are the banking details actually ready? September 5 became the day we built that invisible layer. By the end of it, Studio Conners no longer felt like a collection of good ideas and attractive outreach materials. It had a phone number, an intake path, an operational role for Kristin, terms, confirmation materials, a tax policy, and a clear process for turning interest into an actual Studio Day. The remaining work is concrete: go to the bank, fix the checks, and send the first five packages. The important transition was from “Could this be a business?” to “We can now find out.”
Discoveries
Studio Conners needs an operational buffer around Obsession days.
Quo plus a lightweight response system gives prospective clients a way to reach the studio without requiring Shawn to break an Obsession immediately.
Kristin can be extremely useful without becoming “the salesperson.”
Her role can center on intake, message handling, scheduling, documentation, and keeping the operation moving until Shawn is available.
The cleanest sales-tax policy is to treat Studio Days as taxable.
Because a Studio Day may mix consulting, website work, photography, AI work, and other services, a conservative default is simpler and safer than re-classifying every engagement.
The public offer can remain simple: “A Studio Day is $500.”
Sales-tax handling belongs in the confirmation/payment process rather than cluttering the first outreach message.
Launch readiness is not just marketing readiness.
The five concepts and letters were already strong, but the studio was not truly ready until the response path, terms, tax handling, communications, and internal operating procedures existed behind them.
The first five outreach pieces are now an experiment, not a theory exercise.
The next meaningful information will come from putting them in front of real businesses rather than continuing to refine the concept internally.
Results
STUDIO CONNERS Launch Readiness — YES
Completed a full launch-readiness review and reached the decision that STUDIO CONNERS is ready to put the first five outreach pieces into the market. What remains is primarily execution and real-world learning, not another round of foundational planning.
STUDIO CONNERS Business Phone
Established Quo as the studio's business-phone system and secured (712) 938-1732 as the STUDIO CONNERS call/text number.
Client Inquiry Operating System
Defined how calls, texts, and prospective-client inquiries can be collected and acknowledged without requiring Shawn to abandon an active Obsession Day, with Kristin able to provide operational coverage rather than having to become the studio's salesperson.
Kristin's Operations Guide
Created the internal guide for Kristin's Studio Conners role: handling incoming communication, gathering the information needed from a prospective client, keeping the process moving, and knowing what should wait for Shawn.
Studio Day Terms
Created the client-facing terms establishing the basic operating expectations and boundaries of a Studio Day.
Studio Day Confirmation
Created the confirmation material for turning an interested prospect into a clearly defined scheduled Studio Day rather than relying on informal email/text agreement.
Studio Day Sales-Tax Policy
Settled on the conservative operating rule that Studio Days will be treated as taxable rather than trying to classify each mixed engagement individually. The advertised price remains “A Studio Day is $500,” with applicable sales tax handled in the transaction/confirmation process.
